The La Gacilly-Baden Photo Festival is not your typical photo exhibition, but rather an extraordinary, international, and public art experience. It is taking place for the 9th time this year; admission is free, and everything is accessible around the clock. In 2025, over 300,000 visitors were counted, and—particularly exciting—stereoscopic photos will be on display for the first time.
Historical 3D stereoscopic cards in a public outdoor space?

In the UK, Sir Brian May maintains one of the world’s most significant stereo archives. His collection includes the complete set of “Les Diableries” stereo cards. Thanks to his love of stereoscopy, he supports us stereo enthusiasts and has allowed copies of these unusual cards to be displayed. Behind the Kaiserhaus in Baden is a beautiful spot to set up an imperial panorama. Festival director Lois Lammerhuber wanted a new, modern interpretation to express his special gratitude to collector Sir Brian May.
While La Gacilly-Baden Photo Baden transforms the town into a huge public gallery for several months, DIE 3Dimensionale 2026 will be the stereoscopic highlight within this framework:
DIE 3Dimensionale 2026 in Baden (near Vienna) September 17th - 22nd.
Among others Denis Pellerin, the director of the collection has confirmed his participation and will give talks, one about the collection. This is a wonderful opportunity to meet up with fellow stereo enthusiasts, not only to visit the exhibition together but also to take part in other stereo-related activities and photo excursions in the surrounding area.
